Hattie Dykstra , 77, of Maurice died Saturday, November 27, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church in Maurice. Burial was in Sherman Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Dykstra was born to Charles and Gertrude (De Haan) Dykatra on February 21, 1922 in Larchwood. She graduated eight grade from Rock Valley Christian School and high school from Rock Valley Public School. She received her teaching degree at Cedar Falls and taught country school for six years. She married Henry Dykstra on Nov25, 1947, in Rock Valley.
She was a member of First Reformed Church in Maurice where she folded bulletins, taught Sunday school and catechism, served as sponsor for Girls League and RCYF and was a member of the Evangelism Committee and the Senior Citizen. She enjoyed baking and sewing,

Survivors include her husband of 52 years; daughter Helen and Rpger Oolman of Orange City; son Harold and Carla of Hudson, South Dakota; grand children Brian and Kim Oolman, Brent Oolman, Amy Oolman and her fiancé Terry Aberson, Eric Oolman, Rebecca Dykstra, JOseoph Dykstra and his fiancé Emerly Timperly and Nicholas Dykstra; a great-granchild Kendra Dykstra; sister Minnie and Peter Groen, Tena and Wilbur Hiisman and Irene and Henry Dokter, all of Sioux Center; and brothers Dewey and Adriana of Rock Valley and Norman and Janie of Ponk Creek, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Gayle and an infant sister.

Hattie received her teaching degree at Cedar Falls & taught country school for six years. She married Heiny Dykstra on November 25, 1947, in Rock Valley. Hattie was a member of the First Reformed Church Maurice where she folded bulletins, taught Sunday School & catechism, served as sponsor for Girls League & RCYF, & was a member of the Evangelisn Committee & the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking & sewing.
