Mr. Clarence Van Kalsbeek

Mr. Clarence Van Kalsbeek, 87, of Hospers, died Saturday, December 12,1992 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Mr. Van Kalsbeek was born December 20,1904 near Hospers, Iowa. He was the son of Ray and Grace (De Bruyn) Van Kalsbeek. On February 7,1934 he was united in marriage to Anne Bruxvoort at Orange City. They farmed near Hospers until 1969 when they moved to Hospers.

Mr. Van Kalsbeek was a lifetime member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hospers where he served as deacon. He also served on the Hospers Christian School Board.

He is survived by his wife and six daughters: Jo Ann and Clarence Huygens of Hospers; Ruth and Marley Grotenhuis of Sibley; Harriet and Gerald Van Meeteren of Matlock; Carol and Ron Oostra of Sioux Center; Anita and Gary Jeltema of Orange City; and Laura of Rock Valley. There are 20 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. One brother Peter preceded him and one grandson Marlin Grotenhuis.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 14, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hospers with the Rev. Richard Venema officiating. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Hospers.
