Tena Van Kekerix
Tena Van Kekerix, 79, of Rock Valley died Monday, January 17, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Roger Sparks officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Kekerix was born August 8, 1920, near Sioux Center, the daughter of John and Bertha
(Enema) Van Holland. She attended country school and graduated from Rock Valley Christian School. She then helped at home. She married William Van Kekerix on December 19, 1945, in Hull. The couple farmed in the Rock Valley area until retiring into Rock Valley in 1981. They entered Valley Manor in 1993.

He died March 17, 1994. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church and Faith Circle. She enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Sherwin and Lori of Rock Valley and Eugene and Marge of Sioux Falls; a daughter and her husband, Barb and Sherwin Van Otterloo of Rock Valley; four brothers and their wives, Gerrit and Jeannette Van Holland of McMinnville, Oregon, Dick and Mary Van Holland of Norman, Oklahoma, John H. and Darlene Van Holland and Tom J. and Marlene Van Holland, all of Rock Valley; three sisters and their husbands, Gertie and Dick Boeve and Mina and Dr. Ed Kragt, all of Rock Rapids, and Dora and Ken Kooima of Rock Valley; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlys; and a brother, Enno Van Holland.
