Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Alton Tuesday afternoon for Martin S. Dykstra , 76, longtime Alton resident who passed away at the Sioux Center Community hospital Saturday.

Services were conducted by the Rev. John Maze and burial was made in the Nassau cemetery near Alton.

Mr. Dykstra was born September 21, 1889, in the Netherlands and came to the U.S. at the age of 11.

He married Miss Bertha Van Zandbergen on February 5, 1914. The couple had lived in Alton since 1917.

Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Vern Newendorp and Mrs. Max Kiernan of Alton; Mrs. Gordon Darling of Winterset, and Mrs. Joe Schoemaker of Denver; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Groendyk of Sibley; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren
