Mrs. Gerrit Mouw of Hospers died after a long illness Aug. 20 at the hospital in Orange City
Mrs. Elizabeth Mouw, nee Woertink was born at Alton, on Derc. 13, 1882. On March 14, 1914, she was united in marriage to Gerrit Mouw at Hospers. They spent their entire life in and around Hospers. Mrs. Mouw is survived by her husband, one daughter, Gladys , Mrs. Vincent Bram of Glendale, Calif., one grandson, Duane Magee of Denver and one great grandchild . She is also Survived by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Reka Jacobsma of Hospers and John Woertink of San Bernardino, Calif. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hospers Presbyterian Church with Rev. Henry Rikkers officiating. Mrs., Andrew Vander Berg and Mrs. Ray Smit of Boyden, nieces of the deceased sang two numbersPallbearers were Hortan Jacobsma, Andrew Vander Berg, Aries Roos, Henry Jacobsma of Boyden, Jack Landhuis and Robert Mouw. Interment was made in Nassau Township cemetery at Alton.
Relatives attending the services from a distance were Mr.and Mrs. Henry Woertink of Castlewood, SD., Mrs. Gleason Smith of Belle Fourche, SD., Mrs. And Mrs. Vic Theilen and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Heymeyer of Castlewood, SD., Mr. and Mrs. George Montooth of Sioux Falls, SD., Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Krosschell of Edgerton, Minn., Rev. and Mrs. Jerry Groty and sons of Detroit, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Landhuis of Leota, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Bram of Glendale, Calif., Duane Magee of Denver.
Note:Elizabeth was married before in 15 Jul 1905 to William S Weis.
