John Wilhelm Osterkamp, Jr.
John "Tiny" Wilhelm Osterkamp, Jr., 75, of rural Hawarden, died Monday, August 6, 1990, in the Hawarden Community Hospital. Services will be held Friday, August 10, 1990, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden with Rev. Lee Christopherson and Rev. C.W. Staley officiating. Burial will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Porter Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mr. Osterkamp was born February 26,1915 in Verdi, MM. He married Florence Olson August 17, 1936, at Waverly, IA. They lived in Waterloo after the marriage for eight years then farmed in the Hawarden/Ireton area. He retired 10 years ago.

Mr. Osterkamp was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hawarden and also a Deacon of the church for over 25 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Kay of Hawarden and Charles and Bev of Hudson, SD; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Phyllis) Wilde of El Segundo, CA and Mrs. Carl (Cheryl) Hepner of Readlynn, IA; 2 brothers, Richard of Vermillion, SD and Edward of Alcester, SD; five sisters and brothers-in-laws, Mrs. Vincent (Elizabeth) Heitzign, Lincoln, MI, Mrs. Jim (Kathryn) Oulman, Forest City, IA, Mrs. Keith (Grace) Morehead, Hawarden, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Harris, Phoenix, AZ and Mrs. Robert (Christina) Dwello of Vermillion, SD; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Henrietta (Hussman) Osterkamp, Sr.; one brother, Bill; and three sisters, Lena Oulman, Frances Heck and Minnie Pitzenberger. Pallbearers include Larry Nilson, Robert Osterkamp, Steven Osterkamp, Russell Osterkamp, Stacey Osterkamp and Bill Osterkamp. Honorary Pallbearers include Ralph Bos, Lowell Merrill,
Jim Dunnum, Dennis Robertson, Claude Gordon and Creighton Wegner.
