Florence E. Osterkamp, 87, of Hawarden, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at the Hawarden Community Hospital. Funeral Service was Dec. 21 at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Stuart Schreur officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden assisted with the arrangements.

Florence Edith Osterkamp was born Dec. 14,1918 at Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Pete and Emma (Jackson) Olson. She married John Osterkamp, Jr. Aug. 17,1936 at Waverly, Iowa. They lived in Mason City where John was employed at the Raft Packing Plant. They moved to Sioux County in 1944 where they farmed. They were members of the First Baptist Church where
they were actively involved and Florence taught Sunday School.

John died Aug. 6,1990. She is survived by her son, Earl Osterkamp of Hawarden; two daughters, Phyllis Wilde of El Segundo, Calif, and Cheryl Hepner of Rock Falls, IL.; daughter-in-law, Bev Osterkamp of Hudson; brother, Lee Olson of Mason City and a sister, Clara Greer also of Mason City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband; son, Charles Osterkamp; son-in-law, Richard Wilde; grandsons, Charles Wilde and Phillip Hepner; and great-grandson, Tyler Osterkamp.
