Word from Belmond last week announced the death there of Mr. Osterkamp, who had gone there for a visit with his daughter. He had been unusually well after leaving his home here and experienced no difficulty until the afternoon of his death, which occurred the evening of August 30. His death was due to heart failure. He was seventy-nine years old. Born in Germany and had lived in Ireton for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and four children. Mrs. Hedde Gherling of Ireton, Fred Osterkamp of Chatsworth, John of Elkton, S.D., and Mrs. Grace Panholf of Belmond. The body was sent here arriving Thursday and the funeral was held from the German church Friday afternoon and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. Schmidt. John Gherling and his daughter and his son and wife were here from Le Mars to attend the funeral.

Casper Osterkamp, one of the older residents of Ireton, passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter at Belmond, Iowa, the evening of the 30th. With his wife he had gone there for a visit with their daughter and almost without warning the end came. The cause of his death was heart failure.He was past seventy-nine years of age and is survived by his aged wife and four grown children. The children are: Mrs. Hedde Gherling of Ireton, Fred, of Chatsworth, John, of Elkton, S. D., and Mrs. Grace Panholf of Belmond,
Iowa. The body was brought to lreton Thursday and the funeral held Friday afternoon from the German Lutheran church, the Rev. Mr. Schmidt in charge.
