James Meendering
James Meendering passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2002, at the M.P.C. Hospital in Rock
Rapids, Iowa, at the age of 54 years. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 15, 2002 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, IA. Pastor Dr. Rev. Kenneth H. Arnold officiated. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery of Matlock, IA. Arrangements were made by Sheldon Funeral Service of Sheldon,.IA.,

James, son of Bert and Ann (Mooibroek) Meendering, was born on November 14, 1947, in
Sioux Center, Iowa. He lived his youth on a farm by Sheldon, Iowa, and attended a country school, Hospers Christian Grade School in Hospers, Iowa and Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Diana Menning on October 22, 1965, at the Reformed Church in Archer, Iowa. They lived in Matlock, Iowa. James was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, golfing, Nascar racing, his grandkids and his family.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Diana, two daughter and sons-in-law: Debra and Joe Schuetz of Sheldon; lA, Kelly and Craig Klatt of Sheldon, I A; two sons and daughter-in-law: Robert Meendering of Sheldon, IA, Jim and Lora Meendering of Little IRock, IA; 10 grandchildren: Kaylin, Adam and Casey Schuetz; Brice and Abbigail Meendering; Jesse and Wyatt Meendering; Samantha, Connor and Koby Klatt; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Cornelia and Harold Jansen of CA, Lois and Jim Dirksen of Rock Valley, I A; 5 brothers and sisters-in-law: Gary and Theresa Meendering of Denver, CO, Lawrence and Marge Meendering of Sheldon, IA, Allen and Corlene Meendering of Sioux Falls, SD, Marv and Ruth Meendering of Sheldon, IA, Calvin and Nancy Meendering of Raccine, WI; sister-in-law: Margaret Sybesma of Sioux Center, IA; father-in-law and mother-in-law Virgil and Viola Menning of Sheldon, IA; brothersin- law and sisters-in-law: Larry and Carol Van Donslear of Archer, IA, Sue Mouw of Sheldon, IA, and many nieces, nephews and friends
