Bert Meendering, 79, of Sioux Center, died Sunday at a hospital in Sioux Center.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Duane Tinklenberg will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Meendering was born Sept. 14, 1901 in the Netherlands. He married Ann Mooibroek Feb. 9, 1927, in the Netherlands. They came to the United States the same year. The farmed at Sioux Center, Ireton and Sheldon before retiring to Sioux Center.

Survivors include the widow; six sons, Gerrit of Mosinee, Wis, Lawrence and Marvin, both of Sheldon, Allan of Hull, Calvin of Racine, Wis. and James of Matlock; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Cornelia) Jansen of Bellflower, Calif, and Mrs. Jim (Lois) Dirksen of Rock Valley; 38 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John of Hull; and four sisters, Mrs. Rolfie Luth and Mrs. Griet Vander Vanderlaan, both of the Netherlands, Mrs. Klasiena Luth of Odessa, Calif, and Mrs. Charley (Sophie) Kempema of Rock Valley.
