John Otten Jr., 79, of Doon died Friday at a Rock Valley nursing home After an illness of two months. Services were Monday at the Christian Reformed Church, Doon. The Rev. Paul Baker officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Doon, under the direction of the
Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.

Mr. Otten was born Jan. 19, 1900, in Hull. He married Cora De Boer on Feb. 21, 1929, in Rock Valley. They lived near Doon until retiring to town.

Survivors include the widow: two daughters, Mrs. William (Hester) Niemeyer and Mrs. Nick (Theresa) Bloemendaal, both of Doon; two brothers, Ralph of Luverne, Minn., and Clarence of Grand . Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Alice) Mulder of Doon; 10 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.
