Johanna Riphagen
November 19. 1901—May 3. 1996
Johanna W. Riphagen, 94, of Sioux Center died Friday, May 3, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Carmel Reformed
Church with the Rev. Brad Langstraat officiating. Burial was in the Carmel Cemetery.Mrs. Riphagen was born November 19, 1901. in Sioux Center, the daughter of Gerrit and Johanna (Kleinwolterink) Ter Haar. She married Joe Riphagen November 25, 1926. The couple fanned near Sioux Center until their retirement. They moved to Carmel in 1963. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Carmel Reformed Church and the Carmel Ladies Aid. She enjoyed hand work. Survivors Include three daughters, Lena Boscaljon and Johanna and her husband John Voortman, all of Sioux Center, and Joyce and her husband Chuck Mulder of Ireton; two sons and their wives, "Bill and Lavonne of Sioux Center and Gary and Bertha of Doon; three sisters-in-law, Grace Ter Haar and Henrietta Riphagen, both of Sioux Center, and Margaret Riphagen of Hull; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded In death by twin daughters; a son-in-law, Donald; three brothers, Bill, Henry and John; a sister, Dora; and two great-grandchildren.
