Vernon E. Riphagen
Vernon E. Riphagen, 63, of Chino, California, formerly of Maurice and Orange City, died suddenly on Thursday, July 3, near his home. Services were July 8 at Chino Reformed Church.

Riphagen was born on November 9,1922, at Maurice, to Gerrit H. and Henrietta Riphagen. He spent most of his youth in Orange City, and attended Christian School and Orange City High School. Upon graduating from high school, he attended a CCC camp and served in the Navy during World War II.

He married Helen Vander Broek of Maurice in 1949. they moved to Chino in 1958, where he was a real estate broker. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Barbara Luttrell, of Chino; two sons, Ronald of Montclair, California, and Brad of Pasadena, California; one brother, Merle, of Artesia, California; four sisters, Beulah Harms of Hawarden, Sharla De Jager of Maurice, Arlon Vande Brake of Sacramento, California, and Fay Masters of San Mateo, California; a stepmother, Henrietta Riphagen, of Sioux Center; and two grandchildren
