Marvin De Weerd
Marvin John De Weerd, 70, died at home in Bellflower, California on April 7.
Funeral services were Wednesday at I p.m. at Rosewood Christian Reformed Church, Bellflower.

Born in Orange City in 1935, he was the first of II children born to A.J. and Jacoba De Weerd. He married Martha Van Ruler in 1964 and they raised two sons. He was a firefighter in Whittier for over 30 years.

He was an avid aviarist and an active member of both the Long Beach Bird Breeders and Orange County Bird Breeders. He was a member of the Rosewood Christian Reformed Church where he served as deacon.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Martha. He is survived by his sons, Randall (Hilary) De Weerd of Austin, Texas, and Alan (Patty) De Weerd of Redlands, California; and two grandchildren.
