Final Rites held here Monday for Jim Herweyer, 70
Funeral services were held at Bethel Christian Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, for Jim Herweyer, 70, retired farmer and long time resident of this vicinity, who died here Thursday evening.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Richard Venema and burial was made in the Sioux Center cemetery. Vander Ploeg’s Funeral home of Sioux Center was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Herweywe was born in Holland October 23, 1886. On January 17, 1917, he was married to Henrietta Van Der Ven at Rock Valley and they began farming near Fairview. After eight years residence in that vicinity they moved to a farm near Sioux Center where they made their home for 21 years. They farmed near Hawarden for seven years prior to retiring and moving into Sioux Center about four years ago.
Survivors include his widow of Sioux Center; three sons, William and Henry of Grand Rapids MI, and Fred of Orange City; four daughters, Jennie Mrs. Casey Bleeker) of Sioux Center, Margaret Mrs. Henry Hubers and Ann Mrs. Don Brommer both of Sioux Center; and Henrietta Mrs. Peter Daale of Hawarden.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters.
