A. P. Lemonds Dies At Age 69
Funeral Services Held Tuesday Afternoon for Resident of Hawarden Since 1914A. P. Lemonds, 69, died at his home Sunday after an illness of a year.
Allen Preston Lemonds, son of Hiram and Eliza Lemonds, was born November 28, 1879, at Malvern, Iowa. He grew to manhood in Mills county. On September 4, 1907, he married Minnie Thompson of Paullina. For the past 35 years he resided in this vicinity and for 18 years he lived in Hawarden. During his life Mr. Lemonds took an active part in church work.
Survivors are his widow; two sons, LaVerne of Hawarden and Glenn of Paullina; two daughters, Mrs. Doyle Raynie and Miss Viva Lemonds of Hawarden; three brothers, Elmer of Montrose, S.D., James of Sioux Falls, and Clarence of Hastings, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Kelly of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Ed Chambers and Mrs. B. A. Reynolds of Glenwood, Iowa, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Frazier Funeral home and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church. Rev. Lee Luck of the Mission church, assisted by Rev. B. Roy Brown of the Methodist church, officiated. Pall bearers were G. Waterman, H. W. Gibson, J. A. Squier, Virgil Peterson, Louis Wegner and J. H. McAninch. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

A. Reynolds, Mrs. Alta Hathaway, Mrs. Carl Phelps, Fred Bishop and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lemonds of Glenwood; Mrs. Emma Schield and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schield and son of Waverly; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hagen, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hagen, Mrs. Clarence Hagen, Mrs. Stanley Hagen and Mrs. Lloyd Nelson of Parker, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hagen and son and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hagen of Canton; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hagen and son of Sioux Falls; Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Clarence Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Will Harris, Harvey Troutman, Mrs. Elva Carver and Mrs. Robert Banks, sr., of Paullina; Rev.
