Robert J. Lang, former Hawarden resident and a brother of Bill Lang, died Wednesday, October 13 in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 58.

A retired Navy commander, he moved to Hawarden with his family at the age of three in 1920. Lang lived here and attended school until 1937 when he joined the Navy. Lang had lived in the Tacoma area for two years. He was the owner of a truck equipment company.

Survivors include his wife, Jaqueline Belle; three daughters, Mrs. Steve Purdue of Irvine, Calif., Linda Lang of San Francisco and Mrs. Cathy Vengler of Hayward, Calif.; six brothers, Bill of Hawarden, John in Wyoming, Tom of Walla Walla, Wash., Jim in Georgia and Joseph and Frank in New York; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Barrett, Mrs. Robert Aldrich and Mrs. Louise Stevers, all of New York, and a granddaughter.
