Robert Emmett Lynott Sr., 72, 2031 S. Royce St., died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Thursday [September 23] while visiting relatives in Hawarden.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden. The Rev. William Carel officiated. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Robert, James and Gregory Lynott, Michael and Vincent Kamm and Mark and Matthew O'Harrow. A Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the home of Miss Loretto Lynott at Hawarden.
Mr. Lynott was born Sept. 4, 1904 in Hawarden. He farmed in the Hawarden and Inwood areas before moving to Sioux City in 1945. He worked there as a salesman until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include the widow; one son, Robert E. Jr. of Hawarden; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Mary Ellen) O'Harrow and Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Kamm, both of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. James Gehan of Sioux Falls and Miss Loretto Lynott of Hawarden; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
