Eldon F. Hatting
Eldon F. Hatting, 60, of Alton died Saturday, November 9, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center at Omaha after a long illness of asbestosis.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Concelebrating are Monsignor Nicholas J. Ruba and the Rev. Merlin Schrad of Le Mars. Burial Is In the parish cemetery.
Hatting was born March 26, 1931, in Ashton. He was raised In Ashton and attended St. Joseph's School. He entered the Air Force in September 1948 and served in Korea during the Korean conflict. He was discharged September 4, 1952. He married Diana M. Klein In Alton October 20, 1956. The couple lived in Sioux City and moved to Alton about 1960. She died October 26, 1987.
He was employed as an Insulator. He was a member of the Local Asbestos Union 57 of Sioux City, St. Mary's Catholic Church of Alton and American Legion of Ashton.
Survivors Include three, sons, Keith of Omaha, and Kevin and Kirk of Le Mars; two brothers, Clarence of Brigham City, Utah, and Andrew of Mill Creek, Washington; five sisters, AlmaHons of Sheldon, Elda Keelon of Mitchell, south Dakota, Elaine Wellendorf of Ashton, Delia Wessellnk of Decatur, Illinois, and Marjorle OToole of Sibley; and five grandchildren.
