Bert Hornby Died in Minneapolis Last-Friday Morning
Bert Hornby, former well known Hawarden resident, passed away last Friday morning in a hospital in Minneapolis following injuries which he suffered in an automobile accident last November. He was 66 years of age.
For a number of years Mr. Hornby was engaged in the barber business in Hawarden and had many friends among the older Hawarden residents who learned of his death with sincere regret. At various times he operated a shop here by himself and in partnership with Jas. Kennedy and Walter Jones: He left Hawarden about 1909 and spent most of the time since then in Minneapolis where he followed his trade for many years.
Mr. Hornby is survived by three children, Theda and Thayer of Sioux City, and Mrs. William White of Minneapolis. He also leaves three brothers, Dr. Henry Hornby of Sioux Falls, Edgar Hornby of Flandreau, S. D., and William Hornby of Long Beach,Calif.
