Former Resident Killed in Crash
Arnold Hendricks, 38, of Bellflower, Calif., was killed Tuesday evening and his brother, Wendell "Curly" Hendricks 25, also of Bellflower, was injured in an automobile accident. The two men were on their way from California to Oregon and the facts of the accident or just where it occurred are not as yet known here.
The father, Mose Hendricks, now resides in Bellflower, but lived practically all . his life in the Chatsworth and Hawarden vicinities.
Both men grew up in Hawarden and graduated from high school here. Arnold had served in the navy. "Curly" has lived in California since last fall when he was discharged from the army.
Besides his father, Arnold is survived by seven brothers, Mose, jr., and Glenn of Hawarden, Ted and Ivan, who left Hawarden last Sunday for California, and Wendell, Grover and Oliver of Bellf lower, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Pete De Vries and Mrs. Lewis McDonald, both of Bellflower.
