Lois Jean Heeren, 60, of Hawarden died suddenly on Monday, October 14, 1991 at the Hawarden Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held today at 10:30 a.m at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father Edmond Adams officiating. Visitation was held at the Porter- Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden on Wednesday evening.

Lois Jean Heeren, the former Lois Gaul, was born June 23, 1931 at Granville, the daughter of Ferd and Anna (Marx) Gaul. She married LeRoy L. Heeren on October 2, 1950 at Hawarden. Together they made their home in Hawarden. LeRoy died July 11, 1987.

Lois was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Francis Circle. She was a member of the American Legion Auxilary and the Eagles Lodge of Hawarden. She had served on the Hawarden City Council from 1974 to 1975.

She is survived by four sons and their wives, Lt. Dennis and Lori of Slidell, Louisiana, Daniel "Bo" and Machel of New Auburn, Wisconsin, Richard and Leigh of Ida Grove, Tom and Kim of- Rochester, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Jane) Eisma of Hawarden, Mrs. Tom (Cheri) Sedgwick of Parker, S.D., and Mrs. Gary (Julie) Fox of Alpharetta, Georgia; three brothers, Milo Gaul of St. Paul, Minn., Ray Gaul of Ogden, and Jim Gaul of Sergeant Bluff; two sisters, Bunny Bader and Penny Andriesen both of Hawarden; 12 grandchildren, Kelly, Kriste, and Katie Eisma, Bill and Jeff Sedgwick, Beth and Christopher Fox, Ashley and Kyle Heeren, Amanda and Anthony Heeren, and Victoria Heeren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
