Funeral Held Here Saturday for Clarence Van Ek

Funeral services for Clarence A. Van Ek, 60, of Mound, Minn., a former resident of Sioux Center and brother of Mrs. Jake Van Steenwyk of this city, were held at Vander Ploeg's funeral chapel here at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. He passed away June 30 at a Minneapolis hospital after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Martin Klaaren of Sioux Center and burial was made in the Sioux Center cemetery.

Mr. Van Ek was married to Lora Olson at Minneapolis November 13, 1937. They moved to Mound, Minn., several years ago.

Survivors besides the widow and the sister here include a brother, Jacob Van Ek of Boulder, Colo. Three sisters -- Katie and Gertrude Van Ek and Martha (Mrs. George Winter) -- preceded him in death.
