Dowa (Douwe) A. Dykstra died at his parental home in Hospers last Friday night of consumption of the stomach and intestines. The deceased was twenty six years of age. The funeral was held from the Reformed church at one o’clock Monday Rev. Te Selle officiating. The young man was of exemplary habits and well spoken of. Until about a year and a half ago he was one of Sioux County’s most successful teachers. He quit teaching and attended college at Des Moines graduating in the pharmacy course in August 1902. He practiced his profession in South Dakota but on account of ill health he went west to Idaho, thinking that a change of climate would benefit, but got worse and about four weeks ago returned home. Thus the young man was cut off in the prime of life. He leaves a sorrowing father and mother and sisters and brothers.
