Regena Jennie De Joode was born May 15, 1913 near Alvord, IA, daughter of Teunis and Adrianna (De Knikker) De Joode. She married George Van Den Top on June 28, 1934 at Alvord, IA. Together they lived near Alvord before moving to Michigan where they lived a few years before living at Rock Valley. Regena was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Church at Rock Valley. George died February 10, 1981. Regena moved to the Valley Manor at Rock Valley on May 4, 1999. Regena died Sunday, July 4, 1999 at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley. She was 86 years 1 month 19 days of age.
Surviving relatives include three daughters and their husbands, Adrianna and Henry Rozeboom of Doon, IA, Alice and Evertt Ahlers of Sanborn, IA, Joan and George Lems of Ellensburg, WA; two brothers and their wives, Teunis and Fan De Joode of Yuma, AZ; Arie and Shirley De Joode of Salida, CA; one sister Grace Hansen of Cambridge, MN; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren.
