Carrye M. Smith, 87, was born July 20, 1889 and passed away at her home Nov. 23, 1976. She was the youngest child of Martha and George Smith. She was born at Kimball, S.D. and moved to Calliope, Ia. in 1895 and lived in the same house until her death.

She was employed at Hynks and the J. O. Find store. She was employed at J. C. Penney Co. in Hawarden for 22 years where she was in charge of ladies ready to wear. She was a member of the serving class and the Associated Church.

Services were held Nov. 26, 1976 at the Dow Funeral Home by Rev. Harold E. Sieglaff. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
