Aug. 7, 1926--May 1, 1998Jeanette "June" Van Drunen, 71, died Friday, May 1, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Services were Tuesday, May 5, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sibley, with the Rev. Howard Vrankin officiating. Burial was at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, under the direction of Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.
Jeanette Van Drunen, daughter of Arnold and Emma (Goedtke) Klinkkammer, was born Aug. 7, 1926, in Sibley. She lived her youth on the family farm north of Sibley, where she attended a country school. She earned her G.E.D. years later. She married Henry E. Van Drunen of Storm Lake. They lived in Sibley, where she was a seamstress for 40 years.
She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and making quilts. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sibley, where she was active in the Women's Circle and quilt-making projects of the church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry; two daughters, Maxine and Bernie Groote of George and Connie and Charles Putnam of Sheldon; a son, Keith and Janelle Van Drunan of George; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a twin sister, Jean and Arnie Beek of Westbrook, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
