Carl E. Ericson, 79, Alcester, died May 4 at an Alcester nursing home of long illness.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m. May 7 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery and memorial services were at 2 p.m. May 7 in Nathanael Lutheran Church. The Rev. George Metzen officiated and the Wass Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ericson was born Feb. 1, 1897 in Big Springs Township. He lived in that area all his life, and farmed. He married Minnie Christensen Oct. 25, 1922 at Sioux Falls. She died in November of 1967. He moved to Alcester after his wife's death.

Survivors include a son, Bruce of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Carol) Anderson of Alcester and Mrs. Ernest (Barbara) Reelff of Vermillion; a brother, Forrest of Alcester; a sister, Mrs. Eva Stroshane of Alcester; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
