Forrest W. Ericson, 73, Alcester, died Aug. 25 at a Hawarden hospital.

Services were at 9 a.m. Aug. 28 at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Alcester with the Rev. George Metzenthin officiating. Burial was in Ortonville, Minn. with a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in Mound Cemetery. Wass Funeral Home of Alcester had charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ericson was born May 26, 1903 near Alcester. He married Lucile Rasmussen in 1923. She preceded him in death.

He managed the Farmers Union Oil Co. in Alcester until 1952 when he became inspector for the State Department of South Dakota, making his home then in Big Stone City. In 1955 he married Alma Raaf. She died in 1974.

He retired in 1968 and continued to live in Big Stone City until two and a half years ago when he moved to an Alcester nursing home.

Survivors include two sons, Forrest Jr. of Baubette [Baudette], Minn. and Robert of Los Altos, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Eva Stroshane of Alcester; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two step-children.
