Guy Dimmick Funeral Held Wednesday

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Guy C. Dimmick, 68, longtime Hawarden resident, who died Sunday evening [Nov. 26] in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held in the Hawarden Methodist church with Rev. G. S. Bruland officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home. Mrs. Rod Wilbeck sang "In The Garden" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. Ivoran Noe was organist. Casket bearers were Dallis Dimmick, Don Dimmick, Alvie Rich, Roger Dimmick, Ronnie De Wall, and Jim Dimmick.

Mr. Dimmick was born June 22, 1899, near Walthill, Nebraska. He married Esther Harkness February 15, 1928, in Sioux City. The couple farmed near Hawarden until retirement in 1959 when they moved into town.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Dick, of Hawarden; four brothers, Clifford, Roy, and Glenn, all of Hawarden, and Elmer of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Glenn DeWall of Hawarden; and six grandchildren.
