Esther Dimmick, 102, of Hawarden, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden. Funeral service was Oct. 24 at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden with Rev. Tim Walker officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden was in charge of arrangements.

Esther Dimmick was born the daughter of Asa and Lucy (Remmington) Harkness on July 8, 1901 in Sioux City. She married Guy Dimmick Feb. 16, 1928. They farmed in the Hawarden area until 1959 when they moved into town, where she worked at Otis Radio until she retired. Mr. Dimmick died in November of 1967.

She is survived by her son, Dick; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bernice Dimmick of Hawarden; and a brother-in-law, Glen DeWall of Hawarden.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers, sisters.
