Funeral services for Mrs. William Kahl, 79, were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 1976 at the Dow Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Gould officiating with burial in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Mrs. William Kahl died March 16, 1976 at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

She was born Myrtle E. Ervin, the daughter of John and Sifia Ervin on August 11, 1896 at Richland, South Dakota. She was married to William McGloghlon in Union Co. in 1917. Prior to his death two children were born into this marriage, Floyd S. and Fern.

In 1929 she was married to William Kahl at Brookings, South Dakota. They farmed near Colman, South Dakota for 13 years before moving to a farm northeast of Hawarden in 1941.

They have made their home in Hawarden since retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and an active member of the Mary Magdalene Circle. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Ervin and Libbie Royalty.

Survivors include the husband, one daughter, Mrs. James (Fern) Rose of Garden Grove, California, two sons, Floyd McGloghlon and Vernon Kahl of Moville, Iowa, one brother, John Ervin of Hawarden, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
