KAHL, ERVIN, MCGLOGHLON

William Kahl, 85, of Hawarden, died Sunday, August 2 in a Sioux City hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Hawarden, with the Reverend Marion Bloodworth officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden.

Mr. Kahl was born in the Denison area of Crawford County, Iowa on Dec. 26, 1895. He married Myrtle Ervin McGloghlon in 1929 in Brookings. The couple farmed near Colman, SD for 13 years before moving to a farm northeast of Hawarden in 1941. The couple moved into Hawarden after Mr. Kahl's retirement. Mrs. Kahl died March 16, 1976. Mr. Kahl was an active member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Vernon of Sioux City; one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Fern) Rose of Garden Grove, Calif.; one step-son, Floyd McGloghlon of Hawarden; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Alice McKeegkan of Redland, Calif., Ann Larson of Omaha, and Viola Gednaiski of Del Rapids, SD.
