Mrs. Ernest (Lula) Dicks, 77, passed away Tuesday [April 20] in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a two week illness. She had been a resident of Cherokee most of her life.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. The Rev. James Albertson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.

The former Lula Cougill was born Dec. 29, 1898 at Greenup, Ill. She was married to Ernest E. Dicks on February 28, 1916 in Cherokeee. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Don Dicks of Milford, Ia.; four daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Bonnie) Peters of Hawarden, Mrs. Clifford (Ruby) Wetherell and Mrs. Bill (Betty) Olson of Cherokee, and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Koeppen of Cushing, Ia.; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
