ELGERSMA, DEJAGER, KOOPMANS

William Elgersma, 57, of rural Hawarden, died Oct. 12 at the Hawarden hospital.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Robert Van Hofwegen officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Elgersma was born March 11, 1919, in The Netherlands and moved to the U.S. and Union County, S.D. at age 2. He married Johanna DeJager June 12, 1945 at Hawarden. He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Alvin and a daughter, Carolyn, both at home; sisters, Mrs. Anna De Fries of San Jose, Calif. and Miss Jennie of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brothers, Asa of Cicero, Ill. and Bernard of Leota, Minn.; stepmother, Mrs. Andrew (Anna) Elgersma of Hudson, S.D.; stepbrothers, Henry and William Koopmans, both of Ireton, Iowa and Arvin Koopmans of Renton, Wash.; stepsisters, Mrs. Andy (Jenny) Anema, Mrs. Earl (Henrietta) Kooi and Mrs. Harm (Margaret) Ten Napel, all of Ireton.
