INTERMENT: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton, Iowa
Richard "Dick" Vande Hoef was born July 25, 1939 at Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Evert "Ed" and Agnes (Vander Mei) Vande Hoef. He lived with his parents until moving to the Hope Haven Training Center at Orange City, Iowa in 1986. He then was employed at the Hope Haven Work Center in Rock Valley, Iowa. He has lived at the Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa the past two years. He enjoyed his pet dogs and visiting with others. Richard died Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at the Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon at the age of 61 years.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Tony Vande Hoef and his wife Mary of Denver, Colorado; five sisters, Cathy Bowden of Dwight, Nebraska, Joann Winterfeld of Ireton, Iowa, Edna Royston and husband Tom of Mitchell, South Dakota, Agnes Kleinhesselink and husband Eugene of Hixson, Tennessee, and Charlene Lill and husband Dean of Hawarden, Iowa; many nephews and nieces.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and two other brothers, Adrian and Harold.
