August 8, 1956 - August 3, 2012
Mr. Ricky De Vries, age 55, of Alton, formerly of Orange City, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, following a massive heart attack.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, August 6, at 5:30pm, at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. The Rev. Stanley Vandersall will officiate. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Ricky Dale was born on August 8, 1956, in Orange City, the son of Dick W. and Rena (Groeneweg) De Vries. He was raised in Orange City, where he graduated from the Maurice-OrangeCity High School.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Ted and Jolene De Vries, of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; a sister and her husband, Gertrude "Trudy" and Dean Boeshart, of Norfolk, Nebraska; one nephew and two nieces and their spouses, Nancy and Craig Boche and John Boeshart, all of Norfolk; and Robin and Brad Bollinger, of Sergeant Bluff; six great nephews and nieces, Shelby and Cody Boche, Emma Boeshart, and Karsten, Khloe, and Kendal Bollinger; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Palmer; a brother, Dickie De Vries; two infant sisters; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
