Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Van Etten Funeral Home in Orange City for Mrs. John Van Es, 91, who passed away at the home of her son, Gerrit, in Orange City, Friday. Burial was made in the Newkirk Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Es was born at Pecantonica, ILL. on September 28, 1868. She was married February 26, 1886, to John Van Es, who died September 19, 1940. Mr. & Mrs. Van Es moved to Orange City to retire in 1919. Mr. and Mrs. Van Es were the parents of eight children.

Survivors include three sons, Gerrit and John Van Es of Orange City, and Jake Van Es of Heron Lake, MN.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Tillie, Mrs. Ben Lyftogt, two sons, Arie and Dick, one son at the age of five and an infant.
