Gerrit Van Maanen, 67, of Maurice, died Friday, Feb. 22, 1991 at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 25, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Robert Holwerda officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center under direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Van Maanen was born Nov. 19, 1923 at Rock Valley. He married Elizabeth Franken, Sept. 28, 1951, at Carmel. He was an area farmer.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Alma Van Maanen of Maurice; Mrs. Melvin (Janet) Tickell of Maurice, and Mrs. Kevin (Elaine) Stevens of Ashton; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Bert (Lucille) Kamies of Sheldon and Jeanette Jager of Hudson, SD.
