BARINSKY, WESTERGARD

John C. Barinsky Sr., 84, of Hawarden, passed away Tuesday, November 23 at the Hillcrest Care Center at Hawarden. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 26 in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dwight E. Rengstorf wii officiate. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery with the Dow Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Barinsky was born August 25, 1892 in Plymouth County. He married Clara Westergard Feb. 25, 1920. They farmed in the Hawarden area until 1936. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a World War I veteran, serving with the 39th Infantry Division from Sept. 1917 to October 1920.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Lola) Kaelke of New London, Minn., and Mrs. Lester (Lois) Janssen of Hawarden; a son, John Jr. of Hawarden; two sisters, Mrs. Ben J. Borchers of Le Mars and Mrs. Henry C. Witt of Oakville, Washington; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A similar, slightly shorter obit was published in the Sioux Center News, December 1, 1976. It adds that he died after a brief illness; that he and Clara were married in Hawarden; and that she died March 28, 1975 at Hawarden. It gives his sister's name as Mrs. Dan Borchers.
