Sioux County Capital, January 19, 1989

Roy Van Leeuwen, 79, of Yuba City, Calif., died Dec. 30 at the Rideout Hospital. Services were held Jan. 3 at Yuba City First United Methodist Church. Rev. Herbert Hirschfeld, Ronald Greilich and Edgar Nelson officiated. Burial was in Sutter Cemetery.

Mr. Van Leeuwen was a native of Orange City. He had lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for 42 years. He was a retired auto mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marguerite Van Leeuwen of Yuba City; a son, Robert L. Van Leeuwen of Elko, Nev.; three brothers, Gerrit of Lakewood, Calif., Woodrow of Bellflower, Calif., and Cornie of Orange City; two sisters, Anna Van Rennes of Ogilvie, Minn., and Hermina Groen of Primghar; three granddaughters and nine great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Yuba City First United Methodist Church.
