Albert Van Leeuwen, 84, of Hospers, died Wednesday, October 29, in Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 1, at Hospers Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Mark Beach officiated.

Van Leeuwen was born November 1, 1901, in Dispatch, Kansas, and moved to Iowa in 1916. He married Agnes Steinberg, February 19, 1925, at Rock Valley. They farmed in the Rock Valley area for a short time and then moved into Rock Valley where he was a carpenter. They lived in Denver for six years in the 1930's before returning to Iowa and to Hospers, where he worked as a carpenter until his retirement.

Van Leeuwen was a member of Hospers Christian Reformed Church, where he served as deacon and elder.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John, of Hospers; four daughters, Joyce Beltman and Kay Beltman, both of Granville, Joan Miedema of Alton and Betty Van Schepen of Hull; 24 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
