Mr. John Van Holland passed away after an illness of only one week in the Sacred Heart hospital at LeMars, Iowa, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 12 o'clock noon.

Mr. Van Holland was born on Jan. 25, 1893, in Sioux County, Iowa and reached the age of 58 years.

He married Bertha Ennema on March 10, 1917 at Rock Valley, Iowa. To this union they were blest with nine children of which one son, Enno preceded him in death at the age of 15 years on July 27, 1939.

The following children survive him besides his widow. Gerrit of Artesia, CA: Tena, Mrs. Wm. Van Kekerix of Rock Valley; Dick of Denver, CO; Gertie, Mrs. Dick Boeve of Rock Rapids; Dora, Mrs. Kenneth Kooima, Inwood, IA: Mina Albertha, John Herman and Tom at home.

He also leaves his aged mother, Mrs. G. Van Holland, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Veenstra of Sanborn, Iowa; Mrs. Bert De Weerd of Sioux Center and one brother, Tom of Rock Valley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 1:00 o'clock at the house, 1:30 at the Christian Reformed Church at Rock Valley.

Pall bearers will be Bert Baker, Henry Alberts, Ed Miller, Chas. Gayer, Luke Vollink, Albert Brummel. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery. Funeral arrangements in charge of Co-op Burial Association of Sioux Center.
