Funeral services for Mrs. Aart Van Holland, 66, of Rock Valley, who died suddenly at her home Thursday morning of a heart attack, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, at The Netherlands Reformed Church.Burial was made in the Valley Valley Cemetery.

Services were conducted by he Rev. J. Van Zweden and burial was made in the Rock Valley cemetery at Rock Valley. The Cooperative Funeral service of Sioux Center was in charge of arrangements.

A short service was held at the family home at 12:30 p.m., preceding the service at the church.

Mrs. Van Holland had suffered a stroke in November and was confined to her bed for a time but had been showing improvement in recent weeks.

Hermina Gertrude Van Galen was born May 21, 1890 at Ede, The Netherlands, whee she grew to young womanhood. She was married December 19, 1910 to Aart Van Holland in The Netherlands. In 1913 the couple moved to the United States, settling first in Wisconsin and a short time later in Sioux County on a farm east of Rock Valley. For the past 35 years they had made their home in Rock Valley.

Survivors include her husband and nine children, Winnie (Mrs. Claus De Vries), Martin, both of Artesia, CA: John of Sioux Center; Maas of Bellflower, CA: Bert of Sioux Falls; Alice (Mrs. Ray Miedema) of Artesia, CA; Martha at home; Hermina (Mrs. Henry Berghorst) of Sioux Falls and Johanna (Mrs. Case Boehove) of Doon; 28 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother, Herman Van Galen of Rock Valley; and a brother and three sisters in The Netherlands.
