Sioux County Capital, October 3, 1985

John Theodore Van Klompenburg, 55, of Montevideo, Minn., died Sunday, Sept. 22, at a Montevideo hospital. Services were held Sept. 25 at 10:30 at the Community Bible Church at Montevideo, Minn., with the Rev. Raymond Wuerch and Rev. Robert Oldridge officiating, under the direction of the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Montevideo.

Mr. Van Klompenburg was born Nov. 13, 1929 at Alton, the son of Ike & Agnes Van Klompenburg. He married Audrey Te Grootenhuis on Aug. 22, 1950 at Orange City. They moved to Montevideo in 1957. He was active in farming and was retired at the time of his death. He was an active elder in the local Assembly of Global Missions and served as president of the Minnesota-Wisconsin Prayer Bank of World Gospel Missions.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Allen (JoAnn) Clausen of Madison, Minn., and Mrs. Larry (Rachel) Clausen of Montevideo, two sons, David and Donald both of Montevideo, his mother, Agnes of Orange City, one brother, James of Sioux City and eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, his father, Ike, sisters, Daisy and Martha.
