Mary Van Kley, 84, of Rock Valley died Sunday, March 15, at the Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley. Visitation will be Tuesday, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Van Kley was born August 21, 1913, at Ireton, the daughter of Sipke & Johanna (Weijer) Dorhout. She married Fred Van Kley, April 19, 1939, at Lebanon. The couple farmed near Rock Valley until retiring into Rock Valley in 1989. He died July 6, 1992. She moved to Valley Manor in 1995.

She was an active member of First Christian Reformed Church and the Martha Circle. She was also a member of the Hegg Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and making doll clothes.

Survivors include two sons, Arnold and his wife Retta and Fred, Jr., and his wife Karla, all of Rock Valley; two daughters, Josephine and her husband Gerald "Joe" Van Engen of Sheldon, and Wilma and her husband Gerry Jeffer of Sioux Center; four brothers and their wives, Peter & Johanna, Dick & Lucille, and George & Tillie, all of Rock Valley, and Clarence & Alberta of West Palm Beach, Florida; three sisters, Gertrude Van Zanten and Ella Hoekman, both of Rock Valley, and Martha Goslinga of Orange City; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant grandson and one brother, Sam Dorhout of Sioux Center.
