Obituary: Hawarden, IA—Margaret Mary Lynott, age 59, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father Roger Linnan celebrating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday until 3 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Margaret was born May 3, 1953 in Vancouver, Washington to Richard and Anna (Flanagan) Land. She graduated from Columbia River High School. On April 17, 1973, Margaret married Robert at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawarden. They resided in Hawarden during their married life. Margaret was a full time homemaker, a devoted mother and cared for all her children’s needs. To her children she was better known as "Moogs." Margaret loved to read, travel, enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomato plants, and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Chad (Tamyla) of Hawarden, IA, Jennifer (Matthew) Landry of Sioux Falls, SD, Patrick of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sara (Matthew) Cunningham of Clive, IA; sisters, Katherine (Harvey) Schuh of Vancouver, WA, Therese (Tedd) Ahlberg of Chesterfield, NJ, Patty Land-Mathison, and Stacy Land both of Vancouver, WA; 5 grandchildren, Dillon, Carson, and Drake Lynott and Rush and Quinn Landry; many nieces and nephews; and dear brothers and sisters-in-law.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.
