Obituary: Rock Valley, IA: Peter Koehler, 56, of Rock Valley, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Hegg Memorial Hospital due to cancer. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Friday at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.

Peter James Koehler was born January 26, 1956 at Bronxville, New York, son of Ken and Peggy (Phillips) Koehler. After graduating high school Peter lived in New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Oregon, and California. Peter married Leanne Maassen April 8, 1989 at Rock Valley, Iowa. Together they lived in California before moving to Rock Valley. Peter worked for Men’s Wearhouse for the past 18 years. Peter enjoyed Omaha, poker, and fishing. He has fought cancer since March of 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Leanne; son, Austin; daughter, Madison; his mother, Peggy Koehler of California; siblings, David Koehler of New York, Jill (Brae) Wyckoff of California, Ken Koehler of New Mexico, and Nancy Koehler Murphy of Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his father, Ken Koehler.
