Bertha Van Bruggen April 13, 1904—December 18, 1997
Bertha Van Bruggen, 93 of Luverne, Minnesota, died December 18 at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. Services were Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the American Reformed Church in Luverne with the Rev. Daniel Ramaker officiating. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.

Mrs. Van Bruggen was born April 13, 1904, in The Netherlands, the daughter of Cornelius and Tettje (Visser) Mollema. She was raised and educated in The Netherlands until moving to America in 1921. She married Albert Van Bruggen November 14. 1929, at Orange City. The couple made their home in Middleburg. While living there, they worked as Janitors at the Reformed Church. They also lived in Milaca, Minnesota, from 1948 to 1950 before moving to Luverne. She was a custodian at the Luverne Medical Center for many years. He died April 24, 1978. She moved to Blue Mound Towers In 1984 and to the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne in September 1993.

She and her husband were charter members of the American Reformed Church in Luverne. Survivors include special friends, the Kenneth and Phyllis Vos family of Luverne and relatives near Chandler, Minnesota, and The Netherlands. A tree will be planted by Hospice of the Luverne Community Hospital in her memory.
