Donald A Elbert a Rochester Washington resident for the past 15 years, died at age 74, Monday 24 November at his home.

Born March 7, 1923 in Hawarden to Aloysus and Maidie (Frank) Elbert. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war he worked at Bremerton Shipyard as a driller. He was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1007 in Centralia, Washington and the VFW in South Dakota. His enjoyment were reading, traveling, farming and gardening. He also enjoyed music. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Rochester where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, at the family home in Rochester, Washington; four daughters, Karen Angleton of Schertz, Texas., Kathleen, Nightskye of Hermiston, Oregon, Barbara Barnes of Rigby, Idoha, and Patty Elbert Miller of Portland, Oregon; his son Keith of Rochester, Washington; his sister, Ebelyn Beran of Salem, Oregon; 12 grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. His son, 1st Lt. Joe A. Elbert, was killed in action in the Vietnam War.

Memorials may be donations to Grace Baptist Church, Loganberry, S.W., Rochester, Washington.
